If you got to know your past life... all would be over for you! What if you come to know that your best friend in present life manifested the human form only to take revenge of the murder in previous life and may become the cause of your death in present life! This is simply a theory as explained in the Sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. The prime reason why none is permitted to look back!

It is not we human beings who have taken birth of our own. It is our soul atman on its cosmic journey of 8.4 million manifestations... an earthly life cycle of 96.4 million years! Every soul atman manifests the human form to work out its karma... remove the dross impurities within. It is not within the power of the soul atman to cleanse itself of the impurities within. It needs manifesting a body... the human form to liberate itself from the cycle of birth and death forever!

The human form is the highest manifest stage in the cosmic life cycle. It is only in the human form the soul atman within reaches the last leg of cosmic life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation when it finally liberates from the cycle of birth and death forever.

The soul atman in the initial 7.3 million manifestations manifests the form of an insect, plant and animal! The human form... the human body is the last stage in the cosmic life cycle. In the human form itself the soul atman shall manifest 1.1 million manifestations (bodies) to work out its karma... regain its original pure pristine form!

Our soul atman being the absolute crux of cosmic life... our soul atman being the master and controller of the body... the fruits of our karma as a human being also belong to the soul atman... So says the Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism! The present human life is limited to a single life span of 70 to 80 years.

What form our soul manifested in the earlier manifestation is not in the least linked to the form manifested in present life... nor would the present form be linked to all future manifestations by the soul atman! It is a different matter that based on the residual balance of karma of one manifestation... the soul atman manifests another body in next manifestation!

In the bodily form as a human being... we have one life to live. Who knows what form our soul atman manifests in the next manifestation... why not pursue the goal of life dear to our heart now!

Both sufferings and happiness are part of life. If sufferings did not exist... if only happiness existed in the cosmic system... life would decay and die! Everything in the Cosmos would become monotonous and meaningless! Also at any given moment of time the sum total of the entire Cosmos must remain zero.

Everything in the Cosmos is relative... we always have two aspects of life! If we have day... we also have night! If we have fire... we also have water! If we experience happiness... we also suffer! It is only by sufferings and happiness... life moves on in the Cosmos.

In present life if one suffers... all owes its existence to the negative residual balance of karma from the previous manifestations and the present life! Unless we neutralize the bad effects of the negative residual balance of karma... we cannot experience happiness! Those with a sunny disposition... have a positive balance of karma in their account!

Whatever be our past life... whatever be the residual balance of karma from previous manifestations... it is imperative that we indulge in Punya karma (positive karma) all the time. This is how we can cut down the bad effects of negative karma following us. Step-by-step... slowly as we proceed ahead in the journey of life indulging in positive karma all the time... we shall experience happiness most of the time.

In the vast maze of 12.4 million earthly years in the human form for the soul atman within... what value of 70 to 80 years of life! We simply cannot keep waiting... we need continue doing our karma without waiting for the fruits therein! As the fruits of the karma performed do not belong to the human body... but the soul atman within... where is the cause for worrying or sufferings?

When we shape a metal... we initially heat it, and then beat it and after the metal takes shape... we dip the shaped metal into a bucket of cold water! When the metal (the human being) is heated and beat... it is time for sufferings! For the period the metal remains dipped in bucket of cold water... it is time for experiencing happiness! This is how the journey of life was ordained by God Almighty! Primarily... it is by sufferings one shapes life!

Sufferings are that integral part of cosmic life in absence of which evolution in the cosmic system was simply not possible! The burning of karma... the exhaustion of karma becomes possible because of the presence of sufferings in life! Only when we suffer... we recall God Almighty! When experiencing happiness... who remembers God Almighty!

To distinguish right from wrong is not difficult. By traveling the path of absolute truthfulness... by remaining truthful in life all along... one becomes the judge in all situations! Throughout my life I never found it difficult to distinguish right from wrong. Traveling the path of absolute truthfulness... guided by the voice of my soul atman within... I could distinctly separate truth from falsehood! Whole of my life I never cared what people thought about me... what mattered most was reaching the end goal of life at the earliest!

If we have a goal in life... we would never ever ponder over trivialities of life! In a life span of 70 to 80 years... where is the time for making mistakes and yet attaining our goal! By remaining truthful we can hear the sweet small inner voice of our soul atman that seems to come from within our heart and always guides us on the right path.

Prompted by the voice of my soul atman... I completed the journey of my life and reached the stage of self realization in 1993. Most people world over follow the path of religion hoping to find God one-day. It is not the path of religion... but the path of absolute spirituality that paves way for gaining enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) in one's lifetime!

Both religion and spirituality have different connotations! For walking the spiritual path... for learning the intricacies of the spiritual system... we need to fathom the depths of Wisdom contained in the Sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism.

Full text of query: Is it possible to know about my past life? One more questions which keeps worrying me is that I got this life because of my previous deeds. I am suffereing because I did something wrong. Now I neither remember what wrong I did and how my present deeds are going to be judged. There are so many views about any thing or any action. So, how can I decide what is wrong and what is right in Judge's point of view. As I can not make all happy my actions may have positive effect for some person and negative for others.
