Atman Brahman: Do atman and Brahman mean the same in Hinduism! What is the meaning of saying "Atman is Brahman" by various sages and saints of different era! How does Bhagavad Gita differentiate the two! Atman is termed soul in English. In Hinduism atman is equivalent of soul as in Christianity.

We as human beings are primarily an atman soul in all its cosmic glory! As destined by God Almighty... our real inner self... our atman soul remains hidden from us. Mounted with a bloated ego human beings always failed to realize that fruits of karma performed by human beings always belonged to the right owner... our atman soul... the spirit within

Bhagavad Gita terms atman soul as the absolute master and controller of human body and not vice versa! It is not within the capability of a human body to manifest an atman soul! Ever since atmans souls started their cosmic sojourn... they seek liberation from cycle of birth and death at the earliest... to regain their lost original pure prime pristine primordial form!

This becomes possible when human beings reached stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha)! Having liberated forever from cycle of birth and death... a pure atman soul finally enters Vaikuntha (termed kingdom of God in Christianity). Kingdom of God... Vaikuntha is the abode of Brahman... the ultimate controller of all things cosmic!

Brahman in Hinduism is that entity which is the absolute master and controller of the complete cosmos! In absence of Brahman... the whole cosmos simply could not exist! And what is Brahman as per Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism? Brahman as per Bhagavad Gita is the sum total of all purified atmans souls in the cosmos at a given moment of time!

If an individual grain of sand is an atman soul... the whole mound Brahmin (God Almighty)! In layman words Brahmin is termed God Almighty... the creator of the cosmic system! As per Hinduism scriptures... the sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... it is only when a Brahman explodes self with a big bang... the cosmos gets created!

The entity of Brahmin and atman is same yet they differ in magnitude! One single atman soul is an independent piece of puzzle... the completed puzzle Brahman (God Almighty)! It is only at the time of Pralaya the puzzle gets completed. All the atmans souls in whatever phase of manifestation they be... all reached 8.4 millionth manifestation... the last in cosmic life cycle!

At the time of dissolution of cosmos (termed Pralaya in Hinduism)... all atmans souls reached their purified form! These purified atmans souls devoid of dross impurities within occupied the volume of half a thumb! As per sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... this half a thumb... the collective power of all purified atmans souls is what we call Brahman (God Almighty) in Hinduism!

It is rightly been said that God Almighty exists everywhere! As individual atman soul is part of Brahman (God Almighty)... it is a fact of life that Brahman God Almighty exists everywhere! With the occurrence of big bang... all purified atmans souls scattered all over cosmos at unimaginable speeds! The existence of atman souls in whole cosmos just cannot be disputed!

For all atmans souls manifesting on mother earth... central point of control is center of sun! In the core of sun... in center of sun exists heaven (termed swarga in Hinduism)! After death of body when matching parents are not available on mother earth the atman soul hibernates either in heaven or hell. In heaven if the residual balance of karma is positive and hell if negative!

Brahman controls the whole cosmic system through pivotal points such as Sun! Like sun we have many other small solar systems all over cosmos that have orbiting planets of which one planet definitely supports life! In the whole of cosmos there are millions and millions of life supporting planets like mother earth where atmans souls can manifest a body (the highest stage of life) and finally liberate themselves from cycle of birth and death forever!

Brahman (termed God Almighty) controls life on life supporting planets through complex process of karma! As we sow so shall we reap... nothing less or more says the doctrine of karma! Invested with an ego human beings continue following the dictates of atman soul within though unknowingly! Backed by a bloated ego human beings always think they are controllers of all karma performed!

True... right or wrong karma is always performed by human beings... the manifested form yet, fruits of karma performed always belonged to our atman soul... the ultimate master of human body! Viewing it spiritually... atman soul is not different from Brahman! Brahman exists in us as our atman soul but in miniscule form!

We human beings... the highest manifest stage on mother earth are part of Brahman (God Almighty)! As an atman soul... we manifested human form to work out our karma... remove dross impurities within! The moment complete dross impurities within us removed... we as an atman soul finally liberate from cycle of birth and death forever!

Reaching our pristine pure state... form of a pure atman soul is what life is all about! This is the saying of Bhagavad Gita and also of Hinduism! Various sages and saints of different era have time and again repeated that traveling spiritual path is ultimate goal of life for human beings! It is only by traveling spiritual path human beings reached stage of enlightenment... never otherwise!

Brahman (God Almighty) is not to be confused with Brahmin... a caste of India that indulges in religious rituals! In Hinduism there exists four varnas (castes) of which Brahmins are considered uppermost! All temples of Hinduism are under direct charge of Brahmins... the pundits (priests of Hinduism)! Every Puja in India is conducted under charge of a Hindu priest (a Brahmin)!
