Query: India a democratic goverment... I see a definate bias in some of your statements
but your over all message is right on point. Being an American, I see things from a different viewpoint but I
agree that the principles and ideals that founded this country (Freedom and Democracy) have slipped away,
being replaced by greed and corruption. I was actually unaware that India has a democratic goverment. All
signs of democracy left my native country (US) long ago.
Vijay Kumar:
I have no words expressing my deep regrets on being ignorant about so
vital affairs of life. I was absolutely ignorant about the American way of life and the fine standards of
American people. I have never ever in my life seen such lively expression of faith, resilience, a feeling of
comfort expressed all over America... the uninhibited way Americans live their
life.
I accept my ignorance of the American standards of living with bowed
hands... I am totally to blame. Perhaps destiny bid so.
I had none I could call my own living in USA. Recently I had the
opportunity of visiting my daughters in Chicago and that too for a considerably longer period of time
(exceeding three months). Remaining in Chicago I learnt the true meaning of humanity... the way life must be
lived as a human being.
I took a world tour in 1985 that involved visiting 6~7 countries in
Europe, spending two to three days in New York, USA and the balance at my sister's place in Toronto, Canada.
Perhaps what I saw in Europe... I assumed similar to the true for American life. I was totally wrong. The
western culture does not necessarily represent American culture.
First time in my life of 52 years... I felt living life as a human being
for the entire period of my stay in Chicago... something that can never be expressed in words. I bow to the
American spirit and the free enterprising spirit of the American people that makes it superpower number one
of the world. God bless America... the United States of America!
The meaning of democracy I clearly saw it all over USA. It was being practiced all over USA in Toto. In India
democracy exists only in the print... never on the streets or with the common man. An ordinary citizen of India can
never understand what United States is all about. In USA life truly is not governed by the politicians of the
country but by people themselves.
India primarily is run by corrupt politicians... the common man suffering
untold.
Whatever the politicians of any country indulge in is immaterial... as
long as humanity is still alive in the inhabitants. The bureaucracy... the political system of United States
of America may have gone haywire... but life for the commoner is still a pot of rose... but for how long? The
effects... the practices of the corrupt politicians finally percolate down to the lowest level.
If United States of America is a beautiful country as of date... it is primarily due to the living style of the
citizens of America. But for selecting a wrong president... everyone has to suffer... So says the law of karma...
the law of mass karma! A few rotten apples can spoil the whole lot... and that is exactly what happened in USA ten
years ago.
The selection of Barack Obama as the new president elect is something
unprecedented. I had expected it all along. The combination of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton is truly an
unprecedented combination... the best the world would ever witness! God bless American people for having
selected such a wonderful incumbent for the post of president... more so when the society is passing through
such dark times.
I can henceforth ensure you that all my writings would never be biased in
the least... rather I would be correcting all my essays to the true spirit of American people.
God bless you.
